The beautiful town of Broeke in Waterland, a Dutch province of North Holland in the Netherlands, is now the home of a new canal seawall engineered by ESP.
Flooding from a local canal was regularly disrupting traffic on the roadway, so the town went looking for a retaining wall solution.
The job was sold and managed by JLD International, our exclusive partner in the Netherlands.
A Job Calling for the Benefits of Composite Sheet Piling
Our EverComp 26.1 was selected for the job in 8 meter sheets, for a total of a 300 meter project.
The EverComp composite sheet piling has numerous benefits which made it the right fit for the job. It is affordable, can be manufactured into taller sheets compared to vinyl, and is extremely durable. It also was a good choice for the peat soil common in the area.
As noted on our Composite Sheet Piling page, EverComp is made with a special marine-grade resin system that locks in thousands of interwoven rovings and mattings to produce a sheet piling that can withstand the toughest conditions
Engineering for Success
For an easy and secure installation, the EverComp sheets attached to themselves using a rod to connect from one to another. The resulting canal wall is both strong and secure, and only required three shipping containers to deliver the entirety of the materials.
Everlast assisted this small town in the Netherlands to solve a big problem without compromising the aesthetic appeal and environmental integrity of the area.
