D.R. Horton is the largest home builder in the United States, and we are proud to have provided them with lakewall designs and products for their new Cordera community in Bonita Springs, Florida!
Upscale Living in Southwest Florida
The luxury townhome community features a lake with adjoining pool and clubhouse, and Horton Homes wanted to provide its residents with the best view possible.
Bonita Springs is a few miles from Bonita Beach, and a beautiful water feature would provide the compelling comfort of a coastal climate. Everlast is well-known for its aesthetically-pleasing seawall and lakewall products, but this design stands out.
Gardens on the Water
To support the pool area and clubhouse, contractor Benton Industries installed Everlast Series 6.5 vinyl sheet pile across the lake, and Series 8.5 vinyl sheet pile at the head of the lake. Vinyl sheet piling offers a number of benefits over materials like wood and concrete, including UV resistance, a better warranty, cost efficiency, and low to no maintenance.
The large cap on the lakewall is made from composite facia boards, supplied by our distributor, Decks & Docks. The cap is designed to function as a planter going across the lake, and it contains a watering system to feed the vines and plants that will eventually grow to cover the finished wall.
This Cordera project is an excellent example of how Everlast combines form and function to create value for our customers. Please let us know if you have any questions!
